Interior Designer

Kim O’Toole, a New York native, grew up with a passion for working with color, textiles, and has always had an eye for aesthetics. She initially channeled these artistic sensibilities into a career in NYC’s fashion industry, but later found interior design to be even a better fit. Kim says, “There is something so special about helping people create the home of their dreams and giving them a beautiful space that they can enjoy and share with their family and friends.”

After working for a design firm in Connecticut, Kim moved to New Jersey with her husband and three children and started her own design consulting business. In addition to advising her own clients on design selections, she has helped her husband, Rob, a licensed contractor, refurbish countless houses over the past two decades. In 2020, COVID gave Kim and her family the opportunity to relocate to the sunny Sarasota area and leave the cold behind. Kim started her design career in Florida as a lead designer at Clive Daniel, working with numerous clients and giving her the opportunity to meet vendors in the area and build relationships with local representatives. Missing the entrepreneurial side of things, Kim decided to launch SRQ Interior Design Group in 2024.

Kim has created spaces in every style, from luxurious to eclectic, and all of her designs are imbued with a sense of warmth and beauty. Her approach to projects involves helping clients feel comfortable with the design process, rather than overwhelmed by it, and ensuring that their personal tastes are incorporated. She has received glowing praise from her clients, and her work has even been featured on HGTV’s “Curb Appeal.” Another key benefit of working with Kim, is her husband Rob owns SRQ Building Group, giving her and her clients preferential access to a licensed general contractor and team.

Aside from interior design, Kim has always been passionate about food and nutrition, even earning a diploma from a nationally-accredited culinary arts school in NYC. She loves cooking and sharing her culinary expertise with others, as well as reading, Pilates, and outdoor activities like gardening, paddling, kayaking, biking, and boating.
